A new lineup for Target

We never thought the day would come, but Target has added a new designer in their maternity clothes department. Well, at least they are testing this new line. Time to share the stage Liz Lange, because Chiarakruza is in town! Don’t be thrown off by the name (I don’t really know how to say it either); the clothes are amazing and many celebrity moms rock it. Designer Stephanie Boye made a collection of clothes that moms-on-the-move can actually wear, like leggings, jeans and simple dresses.

We're always on the lookout for cool maternity wear, and we've got a good feeling about this: Celebrity favorite Chiarakruza is bringing their maternity line to Target! Starting February 15, you can get the look of a Hollywood mom-to-be -- for a lot less. All while you're picking up diapers and dinner. Excellent.

The Chiarakruza for Target line consists of pieces that are fun and functional -- tunics and jeans and flowy dresses -- in prints and colors that will pep up even the most cankle-laden mama-to-be. We haven't gotten to see the line first-hand, but the pictures are super cute, and we love Chiarakruza's original designer maternity wear.

By the way, I (and my gang) ran into my sister-in-law and her gang of five, at our local Target trying to find Chiarakruza. Low and behold it was not out.... apparently, clothes will be in stores in the calendar WEEK of February 15th! Well, needless to say I am praying for a heatwave (but the snow is still falling!).

Target adds L.A.-born maternity line Chairakruza to its maternity selection

Target is expanding its maternity offerings beyond Liz Lange -- for the first time ever.

Starting Feb. 15, the mega-retailer will be test-driving Chairakruza, a maternity line that incubated in Los Angeles.

The 16-piece collection targets the hip Hollywood mom-to-be; there's far less suiting than in Lange's line, and more California-style daily wear, including jeans, leggings and stylized knit tops.

Designed by Stephanie Boye, who lived in Los Angeles for years before recently relocating to Pennsylvania, the line is known for its great-fitting jeans and pants -- arguably the most integral item in a pregnant woman's wardrobe.

"I always try to take inspiration from what I actually wear," said Boye. "[Designs] come from what is popular in the celebrity world. Because in L.A., designers can get [clothes] on celebrities. When I see people like Madonna and Nicole Richie pregnant ... my idea of what’s pretty in pregnancy changes. I think Liz Lange is known for her suiting and a certain New York feel. We do the opposite of that really well."

Chairakruza will debut in more than 175 Target stores throughout the country -- including most L.A.-area locations -- as well as on target.com. The collection ranges from size 0 to 18 and retails from $19.99 to $34.99.

Chiara Kruza Maternity: One Shirt Flatters All

With my first two kids, I collected a pile of mediocre maternity clothes, not one of which I could wear from start to finish. Even my favorite pieces had to be retired after a couple of months - or when I hit the "sausage stuffed in casing" look. Now with the third on the way, I'm going to be smarter about my purchases.

Enter Chiara Kruza, a designer (and mom) who has made me excited to get dressed every morning. Her simple, super comfortable pieces will not only take you from trimester to trimester and beyond, but they'll make you feel like a million bucks in the process. I'm crushing hard on the Nuria Top (pictured) which is probably the most all-flattering maternity shirt I've ever seen. Pair it with her Morgan maternity skirt (love basic black) which will convert even non-skirt wearers instantly.

Truth be told, I will be sorely disappointed to retire these clothes after the baby arrives. That's definitely saying something. -Kristen
